Minimizing Risks in Organizations

Boards of Directors, Senior Executives and Managers are more concerned than ever with risk.  In the recent past, the criminal code of Canada has been amended to permit Officers, Directors and all levels of the management team to be held criminally responsible for environmental, health and safety and security issues where there has been negligence.  The Supreme Court of Canada upheld this chain of accountability in a landmark case in March 2008 involving a Quebec company, Transpavé.  It is time then to consider how well your organization is equipped to prove diligence.

This seminar will equip the participants with an understanding of key concepts in risk management.  More specifically:

  • Enterprise Risk Management - A Definition
  • Risk Management vs. Risk Control
  • Risk Management and Due Diligence
  • The Role of Certification in Diligence
